AFSFITS Software Reviews: library (S-FAT and Fish BC 3.0 now avaliable!)
FAST users:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION about Fishery Analysis and information
tools (FAST):
Replacement of FAST
- In early/mid 2010, the AFS Fisheries Information and Technology Section will
discontinue offering FAST for sale. In its place, we will be offering a new
software package called Fishery Analysis and Modeling Simulator (FAMS). FAMS
should have all of the capabilities of FAST plus additional capabilities now
found in S-FAT and more. It will be fully compatible with Windows Vista and
Windows 7.
Patch for
FAST 2.0 and 3.0 for compatibility with Windows Vista and Windows 7:
For existing FAST
users – to make FAST versions 2.0 or 3.0 compatible with Windows Vista
and Windows 7, you must install a software patch that will update your Visual
Basic module. To do this, go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/180071
and follow the instructions to download and install the Msvbvm50.exe
file. Msvbvm50.exe is a self-extracting file that installs the latest versions
of the Microsoft Visual Basic run-time files that all applications created with
Visual Basic 5.0 need in order to run.
